Olá! Como você está? Are you looking for a new way to practice your Portuguese? Look no further than Instagram! Thousands of language learners are realizing what an incredible study aid the app is; why not be one of them? Here are some of the best Instagrams for learning Portuguese.

 

 

 

Um Cartão

 

So let’s start out our Portuguese learning with something a little more challenging, one to try out if you’re at least intermediate level. Um Cartão is basically a quote site. You have the simple quotes which are only one or two words in length. And there are longer quotes with a little more commentary explaining them further.

 

Be aware the entire Instagram is in Portuguese so there will be no English to help you along — which isn’t stopping you from using a translation tool, of course. These are great, short bursts of learning that you can fit in to any schedule. The Foreign Talks

 

The Foreign Talks is one of those Instagrams designed like a flashcard system or revision guide; perfect if you have an upcoming test or want a refresher. This is an Instagram for German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, but it’s clearly labeled for each language so you won’t get lost.

 

There are posts with individual words in all the languages so you can learn them in bite-sized chunks, and perhaps compare with other languages you already speak. You can practice verb conjugation with verb lists, and jog your memory for words with vocabulary lists. The Foreign Talks has over 200 posts and more than 3,000 followers; they must be doing something right!

 

 

 

Portuguese Pod 101

 

Portuguese Pod 101 is a great Instagram to follow if you’re just starting out. There are pictorial posts that offer vocabulary lists for specific subjects, like cooking. There are some great posts on simple quotes so you can see how the language is put together and learn some stock phrases. There are short dialogues for you to practice with that are in both Portuguese and English. And amongst all that there are posts that encourage learners to interact. Português Mania

 

Português Mania is our final suggestion, with nearly 100 posts and almost 200 followers. There are posts on basic Portuguese, and some visual posts to help you learn vocabulary. You can look at beautiful photography with some simple quotes in the commentary and detailed explanations of phrases and words.
