This set of Portuguese tutorials are less specific and more targeted for those who want to get a range of different things from learning Portuguese. Even though all novice students will cover survival Portuguese: as well as Portuguese to visit somewhere abroad to make solid contacts with the locals, what do you do from there? It depends on your needs. Those who have benefited from these lessons have been those moving or investing overseas, spouses of overseas nationals, people who love to travel all over the world, those interested in Portuguese culture and those who just want to pass a specific examination in Portuguese. Face-to-Face 1-to-1 (Individual) Business Portuguese

These Portuguese lessons are driven towards people who have a requirement to learn Portuguese to bolster their work output. For novices, you will find it useful to learn basic greetings and business etiquette. Once you have become more proficient, then reading and writing will come to the fore. Typical students include those concerned with imports and exports, those seeking work in multinational companies, international negotiations and anyone working with international colleagues or administration. Even in our most rudimentary lesson for beginnners, students can expect to finish with decent telephone and e-mail Portuguese, as well as a good enough grip on the language for a short trip to the country where the language is spoken. Listen & Learn does not generally recommend classes with more than 6-8 people, though Taster lessons in Portuguese can run with up to 12 people. This is a great song for beginner and intermediate-level students of Portuguese looking to increase their vocabulary and improve their listening comprehension while listening to beautiful, catchy songs. Sozinho (in English, Alone) talks about being alone but not lonely and urges listeners to take advantage of the time you have available to get to know yourself better, so it has a great message. Mas que Nada- Jorge Ben Jor

Jorge Ben Jor’s top hit is Mas que nada, a great song that is useful to practise your Portuguese skills and learn new vocabulary in context. Beginners will certainly benefit from this song because it’s sung using the present simple tense and doesn’t use complicated structures. Also, you can pick up some very common expressions, like tudo legal (everything is OK) or bom dia (good day). This song will also help you improve your pronunciation, as the singer has a clear accent and sings relatively slowly, allowing you to mimic the sounds easily as you sing along! Sing along to this romantic song!

Aquarela- Toquinho

Toquinho is a bossa nova and pop composer from Sao Paulo, Brazil, who produced great music, like Aquarela, a song to put your Portuguese into practice. The song speaks about the poetic persona’s childhood, who remembers beautiful moments he spent with this family. So, it’s a great track to learn the colours, like yellow (amarelo), red (vermelho), blue (azul) and green (verde). The pace is slow and it has a catchy rhythm, so you will not only learn the language, but also you’ll brighten your day! Listen to the song here!
