1. Dix Pour Cent (Call My Agent)

This binge-worthy comedic gem has taken the world by storm and become one of Netflix’s most popular shows. Call My Agent is about a Parisian talent firm struggling to hold on to their clients happy while keeping the business afloat.

It is a funny, fast-paced look at the people behind the famous faces and each episode features at least one real-life French celebrity playing themselves!

2. Glacé (The Frozen Dead)

If you are looking for something a little darker and in the vein of films like The Silence of the Lambs and The Snowman, the stellar thriller The Frozen Dead should definitely be on your list of series to watch!

The show opens in the Pyrenees, where the corpse of a headless horse is found hanging on top of a cable car. The series jumps back and forth between the two investigators unravelling the mystery and a young psychiatrist’s sessions with a dangerous serial killer in a nearby high-security prison.

The fates of these four characters collide in a terrifying way that will have you on the edge of your seat.

3. Plan Coeur (The Hook Up Plan)

The Hook Up Plan is a light-hearted original Netflix series that will surely hit you with a nostalgic yearning for those cheesy romantic comedies of the ‘90s.

This show is set in Paris and follows a group of twenty-somethings who attempt to help out a perpetually single friend. The show takes a less than wholesome, but still comedic, twist when they hire an escort to help her rediscover love and, ahem, men.

Plenty of hijinks ensue and you will probably blow through this series in a single sitting. Even better, as it is focused on a younger crowd, you are sure to learn some contemporary French slang while you watch!

4. La Forêt (The Forest)

The Forest skilfully weaves together the horror and thriller genres and is one of those gripping shows around. You will be sucked into the mystery of a teenage girl’s disappearance from a village in the Ardennes and find yourself intrigued by the characters—from the captain leading the investigation to the enigmatic, silent woman helping him. Book your weekend for this one!

5. Osmosis

The sci-fi drama Osmosis has a very similar vibe to the uber-popular Black Mirror series and brings up some fascinating questions about the science of love.

Osmosis is set in the near future, when ordinary people can put in an application for OSMOSIS, a data system that guarantees to find each person a soulmate and, in turn, true love.

You will be asking yourself the same question as you watch: what would you risk for the guarantee of true love?
